Lego Unveils Donkey Kong Arcade Machine Set That Impressed Mario Creator Miyamoto

Lego has introduced a new Donkey Kong arcade machine set, designed by Carl Merriam, who previously worked on popular sets like the Lego Nintendo Game Boy and Piranha Plant. The set includes a working joystick and a simple but playable game, though Jumpman (the character later renamed Mario) cannot reach the top on his own. According to Merriam, even Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto has expressed approval of the design. The set is part of Lego's growing lineup of nostalgic gaming-themed builds, following the $230 pinball machine.
