The Grueling 630-Mile Solar Car Race: Fueled Only by Sunlight

On July 19th, dozens of high school teams will embark on a five-day, 630-mile road race from Fort Worth to Fort Stockton, Texas. Unlike typical contests, these students design and build their own cars using off-the-shelf parts and 3D-printed materials. The winner is the team that accumulates the most driven miles, with the only fuel source being sunlight. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Solar Car Challenge, bringing together students from across the country to showcase their engineering skills and sustainable innovation.
