Google Introduces Selfie Video Verification for Account Recovery

Google has unveiled a new account recovery method called selfie video verification. This feature enables users who are locked out of their accounts—due to a forgotten password, lost device, or inaccessible two-factor authentication app—to regain access by recording a brief video of their face. The video is then compared to a previously stored reference video to confirm the user's identity. To set up the feature, users simply look at their device's camera and follow on-screen prompts to perform simple head movements, capturing multiple angles of their face. This adds a convenient biometric layer to Google's account security options.
