Geekbench 7 Launches with Tougher Benchmarks for CPUs and GPUs

Primate Labs has officially launched Geekbench 7, the latest iteration of its widely used benchmarking tool. The new version introduces fresh video and audio encoding/decoding tests, a revamped multi-core test, and significantly larger datasets for both CPUs and GPUs to process. While the interface remains familiar to Geekbench 6 users, the underlying workload is more intensive, aiming to provide a more accurate measure of modern hardware performance. A Pro license, which enables offline benchmarking without automatic uploads to the Geekbench Browser, is priced at $99 (with a launch discount to $79 until August 6th). The Pro license remains valid across Windows, macOS, and Linux desktop platforms. Geekbench continues to be a staple synthetic benchmark for evaluating computing performance across devices.
